My Work At The Festival…
I had the joy of documenting the unique festival that is ‘Come Bye’ in the late summer of 2022. I was crossing between shooting videos and also capturing photos of those that helped set up the festival as well as the festival-goers themselves. Show casing the ‘giving’ nature of the festival, which is inspired the ‘Burning Man’ in which those who attend are encouraged to bring something in order to gift to someone else in attendance. Highlighting this, along with the beautiful farm in which it is situated in the Welsh valleys was a particular aim.

My Work at the Festival…
At this years Love Saves The Day Festival, I was contacted to take photos and video for Bristol based dance collective ‘Shade Cartel’. I had worked with them previously at venues around Bristol & it was an exciting to see them working in a festival environment. These were used as promotion for both their brand on social media and also for them to gain more bookings across festival season.
As well as this, I also had free-roam to document some of the general shenanigans that occur during the festival.

Shade Cartel are a diverse dance collective based in Bristol that bring the excitement to any live event. Whether that is Live Music or Festivals. What makes Shade different from others is their attitude towards inclusion & creating a collaborative environment for dancers of any background to thrive.

Balter Festival 2022 - UKHH (U.K Hip Hop)

My Work at the Festival…
At the beginning of summer 2022, I was asked to join the boys at UKHH to join them in coverage of the festival. This included filming B-roll of some of the acts that they have been associated with in the past such as ‘Dur-Brain’ & ‘Too-Many-T’s’. As well as this we shot a live freestyle with each of these acts that was then used to cut the B-roll in with.
It was a great experience for me to continue my work at festivals and work with such a long standing institution such as UKHH which has become a staple in the UK Boom-Bap scene.

A Little About the Artist…
Coops is a London based MC who burst onto the scene and has remained in the conversation around the U.K’s most thought provoking lyricists. Very few in the UK Hip Hop scene can boast performing their first live show at the O2 Academy in support of none other than Hip Hop Legend, Nas.
Starting out with his friends in his late teens, he reassessed his inner perspective and the world around him before deciding to go it alone. It clearly paid off. At the time of writing Coops has released 6 studio albums, starting in 2011. Reaching cult status with his LP ‘Lost Soul’ in 2014 with tracks such as ‘Odyssey’ & ‘On & On’. In 2017, he signed to UK rap label High Focus, dropping his album ‘No Brainer’ as a debut and his latest LP ‘Crimes Against Creation’. Of which is possibly his most introspective project yet, packed with political commentary throughout.

A Little About the Band…
She Drew The Gun are a four-piece alternative Rock band led by Louisa Roach, from Wirral, U.K. The band also comprises Jimmy Moon, Abbi Phillips, Lucy Styles & Jack Turner.
Their sound can be described as psychedelic rock with a pop influence, often featuring powerful, poignant & political lyrics. At the time of writing, the band have released three studio albums, ‘Memories of Another Future’ , ‘Revolution of the Mind’ & ‘Behave Myself’.
The group started as a solo project for Roach before becoming a four-piece that would go on to win the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Award in 2016.

A Little About the Artist…
Bristol based Datkid first made his mark in the Hip Hop game in 2012 alongside the Split Prophets crew, and immediately made a huge impact on the scene. Gaining attention as a solo artist in 2013 with his first single ‘Home By 8’, an ode to life on tag, Datkid quickly became one of UK Hip Hop’s top prospects. With attitude by the bucket load and the skills set to match, Datkid has been churning out high quality music ever since, featuring on a plethora of projects as well as releasing his own monumental solo album ‘Teeth Ledger’ alongside producer Baileys Brown. Datkid has proven to be an exceptional MC, displaying the perfect balance of technical brilliance and hardcore ‘I don’t give a F***’ sensibilities – consistently stealing the show on any track he appears on.

A little about the artist…
Hannah Williams and the Affirmations are the current darlings of the worldwide Soul scene. Having been sampled by Jay Z on the Grammy-nominated song “4:44”, they were catapulted around the globe. This has lead them to work w/ Tyler The Creator, Guy Chambers and Pete Rock, to name a few. They've been personally championed by Huey Morgan and the late, great masters Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley.

Split Prophets is a hip hop collective from Bristol the U.K. Made up of 9 members but the family runs deep within the underground music scene. Hosting a diverse blend of styles & approaches to the rap genre. Breaking out in 2011 with the hit ‘Ain’t Amused’ by Members Res One & Upfront MC, The crew have remained heavy hitters both as a collective & in their solo albums.
